Hello all!! We have been in Puerto Rico for one full day and have had so many incredible experiences already!!! Today was our day to go to church and be tourists!! The church we are staying at had Sunday school and a church service that we went to before we started exploring the rest of the island. Luckily, we had a translator for the most of the service that stood right next to the speakers and translated so we could understand what they’re saying. After a quick lunch and change of clothing, we drove over to the Yucatán Rainforest and hiked up to a natural spring. On the way to the natural spring, it started raining (big surprise, it rained in the rainforest) and we all got SOAKED! Most of the group decided to get into the natural spring, picture below, since we were already soaking!! After the rainforest, we went to the beach for a very wonderful and sun-filled afternoon. The water was so blue and so gorgeous- I’ve never seen anything like it!!! After the beach, we wrapped up our fun-filled afternoon and headed to dinner, then back to the church to get ready for bed. All in all, today was a great day and I absolutely loved seeing all of Puerto Rico, but I’m very excited to go start working on hurricane relief tomorrow!!
