Day 2 of work! (Team 2)

We’re all a little sore, but still energized to do more! Day two started with waking up at 6am, eating breakfast, then heading out to our sites. On the way to my site, while patiently sitting in traffic, God showed us a reminder of his promise through a clearly visible ground-to-ground rainbow with all colors in full display. It was such a blessing to have that reminder going into our second day of work.

Our teams consisted of the same team members as the day before so relationships flourished even more throughout the day. Showing up at our work site again, we made fresh concrete, and set out to complete the task of filling the gap between the roof and the home’s walls. It was a blessing to walk alongside my teammates in finishing projects and starting new ones, laughing and with great enthusiasm all the way. Even when the weather got hot and we were wearing down, each team member supported one another and I am very grateful for that.

At the end of the day, we met with the homeowner and his three puppies and that was, of course, a great time.

Lastly, one of the most exciting experiences of the day came during our time of worship, reflection, and devotional after dinner. We invited a fellow team from Missouri, who is staying at the same church, to join us and they were grateful for the opportunity and joined right on in. Korie Burgess lead a great devo with an inclusive activity, which then lead to sharing an evening out to the ice cream shop with them. I really enjoyed getting to know the other team better and listening to how God was working through them.

Now on to day 3 of working!
